Meetings Are Full of Promises
"I'll send that over by Friday." "Let me check with the team and get back to you." "We'll have a proposal ready for the next meeting." These commitments are made in every meeting, every day. Most are never tracked. Many are forgotten. Some are broken.
The Accountability Network in Beaver AI makes these invisible commitments visible — and shows who follows through.
How It Works
Beaver AI automatically detects commitments in meeting transcripts. Not just formal action items ("John will prepare the report by Tuesday") but also informal pledges ("I'll look into that" or "Let me circle back on this"). Each commitment is tracked with:
- Who made the commitment
- Who it was made to
- What was promised
- Whether it was fulfilled, expired, or is still open
The Network View
The Accountability Network visualises all commitments as a graph. Each person is a node. Each commitment is a line between them. The colours show status: fulfilled, open, or expired.
At a glance, you can see:
- Who makes the most commitments (and whether they keep them)
- Who relies on others' commitments most heavily
- Where commitments consistently fall through
- The reliability score for each person based on their follow-through rate
Why It Matters
In high-functioning teams, commitments are kept. In struggling teams, they are made and forgotten. The Accountability Network does not assign blame — it provides visibility. When a commitment expires, it is a signal to have a conversation, not a reason to punish someone.
Common patterns the network reveals:
- Overcommitters: People who say yes to everything and deliver on little. They may need help prioritising.
- Bottleneck nodes: People who receive commitments from many others but whose work is always late. They may be overwhelmed.
- Strong pairs: Two people who consistently deliver on commitments to each other. This is a high-trust relationship worth protecting.
From Visibility to Culture
The goal is not surveillance. It is building a culture where commitments are taken seriously because they are visible. When people know their promises are being tracked — by AI, not by a person — the quality of those promises improves.
